
Join us for an immersive waterfall photography workshop at Banning State Park in Sandstone, Minnesota, on October 9th, 2025! Led by experienced photographer Jen Falkofske, this hands-on workshop will guide you through mastering long exposures, capturing stunning landscapes, and even incorporating self-portraits into your work. We’ll photograph two beautiful waterfalls, using peak fall colors as a breathtaking backdrop. You’ll refine your skills in composition, lighting, and creative techniques to elevate your photography. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, this workshop is designed to inspire and challenge you in a stunning natural setting.


WHEN – Oct 9th, 2025, 6:30AM – 3PM

WHERE – Banning State Park, Sandstone, MN. Students will meet at the parking area for Big Springs. Directions will be sent upon registration.
Please note, this workshop takes place in two different areas. It is about a 10 minute drive between them.
COST – $350
WHO – All skill levels, ages, and genders welcome
WHAT’S INCLUDED – 8 Hours of photography instruction.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED – Admission to the park and lunch.
TOPICS COVERED – Manual mode, exposure, composition, light, self-portraits, long exposures, ND filters. Editing videos will be made available after the trip, along with image critiques.
GROUP SIZE – 8 Students, 1 instructor
EXPERIENCE – This workshop is open to all experience levels.
ENDURANCE – Students should expect moderate hiking 3-4 miles. Please note that you will be climbing over rocks, if you aren’t super steady on your feet I recommend hiking poles.
GEAR – Recommended gear requirements are a DSLR or mirrorless camera, camera bag, tripod, ND filters, wide-angle lens, head lamp, and waterproof hiking shoes.
Please also pack a bag lunch.
