What to Expect
Students can expect full days. There is little downtime in this retreat. We will be photographing the sunset some nights which is late (starts around 11PM) due to the Midnight Sun. We will sleep in and get a late start to our days after 10 AM most days.
We will work with filters, long exposures, ICM, compositions, self-portraits, and more. An editing session will be made available after the retreat along with image feedback.
There will be a Facebook group created for the retreat where students may ask questions. We will also have an informational online meeting before the trip to address any questions you may have.
A Photographers Paradise
Where Will We Go?
We will stay in 4 different areas of Iceland. We recommend flying in a day before the trip to ensure you and your luggage make it on time. It will also give you time to explore Reykjavik. If you decide to come early please book a room at Center Hotels Plaza. (Not included in price of tuition).
Our first leg of the journey will take us to Snaefellsnes Peninsula, we will spend 2 nights here. After that we will head to the Golden Circle for 2 nights. Then off to Vik for 2 nights, and lastly we will stay 2 nights at a horse farm in Hvolsvollur.
Students can expect to photograph lupines galore, caves, black sand beaches, canyons, horses, sheep, churches, puffins, and an insane amount of waterfalls! We will visit popular spots like Skogafoss, Diamond Beach, Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon, Golden Circle, Kirkjufell, Black Church and Vik Church. We will also visit some lesser-known but equally as beautiful spots.
*Due to unpredictable Icelandic weather we cannot guarantee all these sights will be seen.
