Into the Badlands We Go!
I am heading back to the Badlands to lead another women’s photography workshop! May is a wonderful time to visit the park. There are better chances of cooler temps, green grass, and spring storms!

WHAT – 5 Day photography workshop (ladies only)
WHEN – May 31st -June 4th, 2023
WHERE – Badlands National Park, South Dakota
COST – $2000 USD Ask me about the $500 off tuition special!
WHAT’S INCLUDED – Photography education, location guiding & admission into the park. Complimentary 20×30 canvas from our sponsor Pro Prints.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED – Airfare, lodging, trip insurance, transportation, food
TOPICS COVERED – Manual mode, exposure, composition, light, self-portraits, astrophotography, portraits, long exposure, composites. Editing videos will be made available after the trip, along with image critiques. I will also be talking about ways to grow as artist, conquer your fears and tap into your creativity.
GROUP SIZE – 10 students, 1 instructor, 1 assistant
EXPERIENCE – This course is for all levels. Both beginners and advanced photographers will walk away with new skills.
ENDURANCE – Students should expect moderate activity. There will be some short hikes involved with the possibility of a longer one (weather permitting).
GEAR – Recommended gear requirements are a DSLR or mirrorless camera, camera bag, tripod, filters, wide-angle lens with a large aperture, and zoom lens. A full list with details and specific products will be emailed to you.
LODGING – I have a block of rooms reserved for us at Circle View Ranch. You will book your room directly through them, and pay the ranch. The average room price was around $150 a night.
FOOD – A stay at the ranch includes an amazing home-cooked breakfast. You are responsible for your other meals. There is a full-sized kitchen available for use at the ranch. Wall is the closest town for restaurants and groceries. There is a very small grocery store in Interior that is closer, but very limited supply there.
TRAVEL – The nearest airport to Badlands NP is Rapid City Airport.

A deposit of $1000 is required to reserve your spot. Deposits will be taken via Zelle or personal check with no fee or through Venmo with a 2% transaction fee. The remainder is due within 60 days of the workshop date.

SCHEDULE
I have tried a schedule at past workshops but I have found it too hard to stick to. Due to the weather and light, I like to keep our options open. Students can expect to photograph sunrises and sunsets most days. There will be a break during the middle of the day. I like to do a minimum of one evening of astrophotography. Following those shoots, sunrise shoots will be optional. We will photograph wildlife and landscapes throughout the park.
